The Jammu and Kashmir Board of Professional Entrance Examinations (JKBOPEE) has released the schedule for JKCET 2024. The registration process for JKCET 2024 opens in April. The entrance exam will be conducted on 5 June 2024.
Those currently appearing for the Intermediate exam in 2024 are eligible to apply. JKCET is a state-level Common Entrance Test (CET) conducted for admission in undergraduate engineering programs at many government and private institutions in Jammu & Kashmir Union Territory.
Why JKCET 2024?
The Jammu and Kashmir Common Entrance Test (JKCET) is a state-level admission exam conducted using pen and paper. It is organized by the Jammu and Kashmir Board of Professional Entrance Examinations (JKBOPEE) to fill seats in undergraduate engineering programs in Jammu and Kashmir’s government and private colleges. JKCET 2024 Exam Date
JKBOPEE released the tentative Jammu and Kashmir Common Entrance Test (JKCET) exam date. As per latest updates exam will be conducted on 5 June 2024.

JKCET 2024 Examination Pattern
The examination structure for Jammu and Kashmir Common Entrance Test (JKCET) is outlined as follows:
- Mode of Examination: Pen-and-Paper-Based Test
- Duration of Examination: 3 Hours
- Medium: English
- Question Type: Multiple-choice questions (MCQs)
- Sections: Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry
- Number of Questions: 180
- Marking Scheme: One mark for each correct response and a penalty of -0.25 marks for each incorrect answer.
- Examination Centre: The examination will be conducted offline at designated centers in Jammu and Srinagar simultaneously, as determined by the Board. Centres will open 35 minutes before exam.

JKCET 2024 Exam Syllabus: The JKCET exam paper is designed based on the curriculum and syllabus of the Intermediate.
JKCET Eligibility Criteria 2024
To be eligible for the application, the applicant must fulfill the following criteria:
- Have domiciled in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir or Ladakh.
- Have passed the 10+2 (Intermediate) or equivalent examination from a recognized education board with compulsory subjects in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. They must have obtained at least 45% marks for Open Merit Category candidates, including certain specified categories such as Children of Defense Personnel, Para Military Force, J&K Police Personnel, TFW, and candidates with outstanding proficiency in sports or 40% marks (for candidates belonging to SC/ST/RBA/ALC/IB/OSC/PSP).
- Candidates appearing/appeared in Intermediate class examination in 2024 are also eligible to apply.
- There is no maximum age limit for appearing in the Entrance Test.
Application Fees: Rs. 1200 is required as the application fee, which must be made online using a National Credit Card, Debit Card, or Net Banking.
JKCET 2024 Application form: How to Apply?
Candidates are required to apply for JKCET online through the official website i.e. www.jkbopee.gov.in. Before filling out the application form, applicants must go through the official brochure. The application procedure consists of the following steps:
- Fill out the online application form.
- Make the payment of the application fee.
- Upload the necessary documents.
- Print the completed application form.
When uploading documents, ensure they are in the specified size range of 100-200 KB. The required documents include:
- Certificate of residence as proof of domicile in the UT of Jammu and Kashmir or Ladakh.
- Mark sheet for the qualifying examination.
- Matriculation or equivalent examination certificate.
- A copy of the category certificate (if applicable).
Engineering Seats in Jammu & Kasmir: There are 7 colleges in JK. The total Seats to be filled by BOPEE in Govt. colleges, Chak Bhalwal Jammu are 315 seats; in Govt College, Ganderbal, Kashmir, 315 seats; in MIET, Kot Bhalwal are 456 seats (total 480); in MBS, Babliana is 150 (total 300), in SSM College of Engineering, Pattan, Baramulla, Kashmir are 627 seats(total 660), in Yoganada college, Patoli, Jammu are 399 seats(total 420 seats), in Bhargava College, Supwal has 255 open merit seats(total 270).
